New Delhi – Foxconn is building the world’s largest manufacturing facility, which will produce Nvidia’s GB200 chips. This step has been taken to meet the increasing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI). Foxconn, which assembles Apple’s iPhones and is the world’s largest electronics maker, is now profiting from the AI boom because it also makes servers. Benjamin Ting, senior vice president of Foxconn’s Cloud Enterprise Solutions business group, said That his company’s partnership with Nvidia is extremely important. “We are building the world’s largest GB200 production facility, but right now I can’t say where it will be,” he said. He made this statement at the company’s annual Tech Day in Taipei.
The purpose of this project is to mass-produce superchips for Nvidia’s Blackwell platform, the demand for which is currently very high. Nvidia started shipping samples of its Blackwell chips to its customers and partners in August this year. The company expects these chips to generate revenue of several billion dollars in the fourth quarter. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu also Informed that this plant established in Mexico will be of very high capacity. This move will further strengthen Foxconn’s presence in the field of Artificial Intelligence. The company has already invested more than $500 million in Mexico’s Chihuahua state and it is becoming one of its major manufacturing hubs.
Ting also said that demand for Nvidia’s Blackwell platform is very high. Nvidia’s AI and Robotics Vice President Dipu Talla was also present with him. Last year, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was also present at Foxconn’s Tech Day, but this year he could not come. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said at the event that his company’s supply chain is fully prepared for the AI revolution. He added that Foxconn’s manufacturing includes “advanced liquid cooling and heat dissipation technology,” which is necessary to meet the requirements of the GB200 server.
Foxconn’s focus has now moved from manufacturing consumer electronics for Apple to manufacturing AI servers and electric vehicles (EVs). Foxconn has said that its supply chain is fully prepared for the artificial intelligence revolution. This includes “advanced liquid cooling and Heat Dissipation”, which are essential for the GB200 server infrastructure. In addition, Foxconn has also strengthened its position in electric vehicle manufacturing, and has many plans in this area as well.
