Transport Department officials have imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Haryana-based manufacturing company Mantra after the maximum speed limit of e-scooter was found to be more than the standard in Bareilly. Actually, during checking, officials stopped an e-scooter rider on Shahjahanpur Highway. When the scooter was examined, it was found that it was of 250 watts, while its maximum speed limit was 40 kilometers per hour. According to the standard, the speed of e-scooter of this capacity should not exceed 25. Due to this the company was fined.

According to Ramesh Chandra Prajapati, Passenger Tax Officer (PTO) of the Transport Department, who was checking, the scooter rider told that he had purchased his vehicle from Raza Enterprises located in Nakatiya. On this they reached the showroom. When the documents were checked, it was found that the maximum speed of the scooter was more than 40 kilometers per hour. The speed was checked thrice, but the speed of the scooter was found to be contrary to the standard. The showroom operator told that he brings e-bikes from Mantra Company located at Khetampur Road, Adampur Mandi in Hisar district of Haryana and sells them here. After this he imposed a fine on the company.
