Campaign conducted by Municipal Corporation’s health department team As part of the campaign, several teams of the Municipal Corporation’s health department on Tuesday raided a factory in Parsakheda, where banned plastic glasses were being manufactured. During the investigation, 2 tonnes of plastic worth approximately Rs 4.5 lakh was seized from inside the factory. Chief Sanitation and Food Inspector MPS Rathore said that banned plastic glasses and polythene were being produced in the factory. A notice was issued to factory operator Arun Aggarwal and a fine of Rs 5 lakh was also imposed.
The corporation team was shocked as soon as the factory gate was closed. During the investigation, when the team arrived, factory workers suddenly tried to close the gate, leading the Municipal Corporation to suspect some foul play. After this, the officials went inside and inspected the factory, in which huge quantity of banned plastic material was found being produced and stored.
The team kept investigating for six hours Under the leadership of City Health Officer Dr. Bhanu Prakash, a team of several officers including Chief Sanitation and Food Inspector Mahendra Pratap Singh Rathore, Sanitation Inspector Sanjay Kumar, Purnima Saxena, and enforcement team in-charge CP Singh investigated the factory for about six hours. There was a board saying “Concept Furniture” outside the factory, while banned plastic was being produced inside. The operation continued till the evening and all the seized items were kept safe in the warehouse. Keeping the cleanliness drive in mind, the Municipal Corporation has increased the strictness on banned plastic, especially in view of festivals. The aim of this action is to make the city clean and plastic free.
