Balotra Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) is being run by the Government of India to promote self-employment and small industries to young entrepreneurs as well as to encourage the unemployed for self-employment.

General Manager of District Industry and Commerce Center, Anant Arya said that under the program, 15 to 35% subsidy of the project cost is provided for taking loan from the bank for new ventures in manufacturing and service sector. Also, banks approve financing up to 90 to 95% of the project cost. Apart from this, training and guidance is also provided so that they can operate their business successfully. To apply for the scheme, the entrepreneur will have to apply online on the KVIC portal. The beneficiary must be above 18 years of age and must have passed at least 8th class.
