The DM inspected the textile manufacturing unit operating in Mehus village of Sadar block of the district. During this, he talked to the women working in the unit and learned about their problems. Also understood the intricacies of textile manufacturing. He praised the operator for providing employment to around 100 women at one place. On this occasion, DM said that this is a better initiative. The state government is also helping on such initiatives. He said that the garments unit got the benefit of PMGIP scheme from the central government, after which the Bihar government has also provided a loan of more than one crore. Whereas there is some problem at the local level, which was also assured to be resolved soon. Giving information in this regard, director Ram Raghav, resident of Menhus village, said that he used to work in a private company while living in Delhi. He lost his job during the Corona period, after which he started a startup in the village itself. Started employment by keeping it in the village itself but did not get success for the first time. But as soon as the Prime Minister got the benefit of PMEGP, Ram Raghav’s spirits soared.
Ram Raghav, director of the textile manufacturing unit manufacturing 15,000 lady garments per month, expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for the PMGIP, saying that if the benefits of the scheme were not available at the right time, today this picture might not have been seen in the remote villages. He said that at present more than fifteen thousand lady garments are being manufactured every month and the garments manufactured here are being transported to other metros including Delhi and Kolkata. Also, the clothes made here are exported to foreign countries. Sheikhpura DM Arif Ahsan inspected the unit where a youth from Sheikhpura opened a garments manufacturing unit while staying in the village and providing employment to the nearby villagers. During this time the DM also talked to the workers doing sewing.
