Cuttack Cuttack: Another fake ghee manufacturing unit was busted in Cuttack city and this time it was busted in Jagatpur New Industrial Estate area. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Jagatpur Police and Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) today conducted a raid and busted a unit manufacturing adulterated ghee. Sources said that during the raid, the team came to know that fake ghee was prepared in the unit with some raw material and vegetable oil of Ruchi Gold and some essence was mixed in it, which is harmful for health.
Sources said that after preparing the fake ghee, the manufacturing unit would pack it under the names of two brands – Balagopal Ghee and Nirmalya Ghee, which had a picture of a cow – and sell it in Nabarangpur, Koraput and parts of western Odisha. . Apart from recovering a huge quantity of adulterated ghee and sealing the unit, the police also arrested the owner and sent him to court.
