New Delhi:
The mobile manufacturing industry in India is getting global recognition with the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Big companies like Samsung and Apple are setting up their factories in India. With this, India is making its mark as the second largest mobile phone exporter in the world. Samsung’s factory in Noida and Apple’s iPhone production center in Tamil Nadu are playing a key role in making India a major player in tech manufacturing.
Samsung has built the world’s largest mobile manufacturing plant in Noida. With this plant, the company has increased its production capacity from 68 million to 120 million units annually. This factory is part of Samsung’s ‘Make for World’ strategy.
Under this strategy, the company is working on plans to produce phones not only in India but also in other countries. Understanding the needs of Indian customers, the company is focusing on local research and development to meet them. This blend of global goals with local expertise is helping India become self-reliant.
Apple is also changing its manufacturing strategies. The company is expanding iPhone manufacturing in India to reduce dependence on China. For the first time, a new iPhone 16 series is being made in India, which will include Pro and Pro Max models.
This iPhone series will be assembled at Foxconn’s facility in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, India. Many Indian workers are being specially trained to assemble these advanced tools. This shows the increasing importance of India in Apple’s supply chain.
India’s mobile manufacturing industry reflects the success of the Make in India initiative. Big technology companies like Samsung and Apple are not only creating employment opportunities in India, but India’s technical skills and export capabilities are also improving.
With increasing foreign investment, India is becoming a center of global manufacturing instead of being dependent on imports. This change is paving the way for making India self-reliant. Also, India’s position in the global technology industry is getting stronger.
