The Chief Minister got in-depth information about the ongoing work in the manufacturing plant, cancer research center and surgical robotics area in Merrill Park.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new manufacturing plant of medical devices of Meril Company in Chala village of Vapi tehsil of Valsad district through video conference in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The live telecast of the Prime Minister’s program broadcast from Delhi was watched by the dignitaries present at the Takshila Auditorium of Merrill Academy. The Chief Minister visited the new manufacturing plant of medical devices ‘Merrill Park-1’, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conference. The Chief Minister obtained in-depth information about the work going on in the manufacturing plant of Merrill Company, Cancer Research Center and surgical robotics area. He also inspected the manufacturing plant of heart valves and stents. In this plant, mainly work related to surgical robotics, heart valves, stents and cancer research will be done. The Chief Minister also got information about all types of medical devices like trauma implants, orthopedic implants and India’s first robot for knee replacement (Meesho) manufactured at Merrill Studio. On this occasion, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel also inaugurated ‘Merai Data Centre’ at Merrill Academy. The aim of this data center is to enhance the quality of human life to the maximum level by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to bring global change in the health sector. Using this health data, new medicines can be researched and the accuracy of treatment and diagnosis of patients can be improved. In the programme, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel released books prepared on ‘Merrill Sankalp’ and the effects of climate change on health. To make the Ayushman Card more useful especially for senior citizens, many of the eligibility limits for people aged 70 years and above have been removed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Now the benefits of Ayushman Card can be availed only by presenting Aadhar Card and Ration Card. In this direction, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel distributed Ayushman cards to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) of Valsad district under this new initiative. Apart from this, the Chief Minister also distributed e-vaccine certificates.
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday presented projects to the countrymen to further strengthen and empower the health sector in various states on the occasion of Dhanvantari Jayanti and 9th Ayurveda Day. The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several health sector projects worth more than Rs 12,850 crore at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. Under this, on this occasion the Prime Minister had launched the U-WIN portal related to vaccination of pregnant mothers and children aged 0 to 16 years. Under this, all types of information about vaccination of pregnant mothers and children aged 0 to 16 years will be available from any corner of the country.
On this occasion, a short film prepared from the perspective of Ayushman Card beneficiaries aged 70 years and above, a short film related to the importance of Ayurveda, pharma sector and the functioning of U-Win portal and its utility was also screened. Anjumbhai Bilkhia and CEO Vivekbhai Shah of Merrill Company gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives of Merrill Company. Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals Minister Kanubhai Desai, Lok Sabha Whip and MP Dhavalbhai Patel, MLA Bharatbhai Patel, Jitubhai Chaudhary, Arvindbhai Patel and Ramanlal Patkar, Vapi Municipality President Pankajbhai Patel, Valsad District Panchayat President Manharbhai Patel, District Organization Head Hemantbhai were present in the program.
