During the investigation, 2 tons of plastic worth about Rs 4.5 lakh was seized from inside the factory. Chief Sanitation and Food Inspector MPS Rathore said that banned plastic glasses and polythene were being produced in the factory. A notice was issued to the factory operator Arun Agarwal and a fine of Rs 5 lakh has also been imposed. The corporation team got suspicious as soon as the factory gate was closed. During the investigation, upon the team’s arrival, the factory employees suddenly tried to close the gate, which made the Municipal Corporation suspect some wrongdoing. After this, the officials went inside and inspected the factory, in which a large amount of banned plastic material was found to be produced and stored. The team continued to investigate for six hours. Under the leadership of Municipal Health Officer Dr. Bhanu Prakash, a team of several officials including Chief Sanitation and Food Inspector Mahendra Pratap Singh Rathore, Sanitation Inspector Sanjay Kumar, Purnima Saxena, and Enforcement Team in-charge CP Singh investigated the factory for about six hours. A board of “Concept Furniture” was installed outside the factory, while banned plastic was being produced inside. The action continued till evening and all the seized goods were kept safely in the warehouse. Keeping in mind the cleanliness campaign, the Municipal Corporation has increased the strictness on banned plastic, especially in view of the festivals. The purpose of this action is to make the city clean and plastic free.
